Workforce & Education
We invest in success.
Haywood County attracts a loyal workforce from a multi-county labor shed that includes East Memphis, Lauderdale and Tipton Counties. An ACT Work Ready Community, Haywood County has several workforce education programs and works with local companies to provide industry-specific training and incentives. A satellite campus of Tennessee Applied Colleges of Technology provides training for high-skills jobs, and programs stretching all the way to elementary school emphasize work readiness.
Tennessee is leading the way in education reform by increasing the number of Tennesseans with college degrees or certifications through the Tennessee Promise and Tennessee Reconnect. As the first state in the country with these initiatives, Tennessee promises employers the support of highly skilled workers.
